Redirection from your Webspace

As with our Standard and Masked Redirection services (which cannot be used when hosting space is enabled) it is possible to do the same thing but from within your hosting space. The advantage with this is you can work on a new site while still redirecting people to an alternate site.

For example if you were working on a WordPress site and insert a index.html that redirects traffic elsewhere then you can still access your WordPress site yourself by adding /index.php to the URL.

For Standard Redirection

(where the URL changes in the address bar to the one you enter in index.htm)

1. Create a file with the following contents and replace [full redirection URL address here] with your redirection URL without the brackets.

2. Name the file index.html and upload to your domain root folder.

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv=”refresh” content=”0;URL=[full redirection URL address here]”>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>

For Masked Redirection

(where the origially entered URL should remain in the users Address Bar)

1. Create a file with the following contents and replace [full redirection URL address here] with your redirection URL without the brackets.

2. Name the file index.html and upload to your domain root folder.

<html>
<frameset cols=”100%,0″>
<frame src=”[full redirection URL address here]” />
</frameset>
</html>
